FRAGILE OPENS ITS NEW SHOWROOM

A brand new location and website, to gather and offer to passionate collectors and dealers the most important Italian design manufacture of the XXth Century.

Via San Damiano, 2 (on the corner of Corso Monforte)

Try to forget the neutral spaces and toned-down style you're used to, prepare yourselves to the irony and high character of the new location which links to the exhibited pieces in a very unconventional way and becomes a main part of the exhibition itself as a developer of style and ideas.

The new location is, most of all, a revolution of the traditional concept of the XXth Century design showrooms, an innovative and active design hub created by Alessandro Mendini's historical trademark.

Alessandro and Francesco Mendini aimed to produce a whole retail concept characterized by a strong and ironic personality, which could match Fragile's precious collection of historical design furniture and objects.

Bold colors, shapes and materials blend in with the exquisite choice of furnishings exhibited, providing a new showroom concept which truly steps away from the conventional and low-key design locations.

Fragile's new showroom will unveil its 200m² in mid-december, offering a unique choice of furniture, lightings, furnishing accessories and jewelery created by the most important last century designers, gathered together through an accurate cataloguing and research work.

Studiopepe will take care of the staging, and, for the opening, visitors will be given the opportunity to see, among the others, extremely rare pieces designed byMax Ingrand, Gio Ponti, Franco Albini, BBPR and Gino Sarfatti.

It's been years since Fragile started to organize events and exhibitions, such as Franco Albini & Franca Helg (2009); Nothing Less – La forza del Design femminile (2011) and Bracciodiferro. Gaetano Pesce – Alessandro Mendini 1971 – 1975 (2013), the last two of these, curated by Anty Pansera and hosted at the historical Incoronata Library during the “Salone del Mobile”.

On the occasion of the opening, Fragile will also launch its brand new website www.fragilemilano.com, conceived to offer a visually and conceptually pleasing experience, an online shop which combines the typical e-commerce immediacy to the special relationship made of skillfulness and availability Fragile has established with its clients.

The increasing interest of foreign market to Italian XXth Century design provided Fragile the chance to open a gallery in Paris in 2012 (5bis, Impasse Simon, Saint-Ouen), a charming place which shared the pursuit of offering the client a valuable and fulfilling experience.

The new location and website manage to enhance Fragile's intent to provide collectors, dealers and interior designers with the most exquisite and important Italian design production of the XXth Century.
