About usFragile is an historical and contemporary design gallery which was opened in Milan in 2000 and, since its birth, it quickly became a reference point in home decoration and for collectors, offering a unique choice of furniture, lightings, furnishing accessories and jewellery created by the most important last century designers, such as Gio Ponti, BBPR, Franco Albini, Angelo Mangiarotti, Carlo Scarpa, Osvaldo Borsani, Gae Aulenti, from the Fifties ‘till nowadays, gathered together through an accurate cataloguing and research work.
Fragile is essentially composed of two different-but-complementary souls: one is committed to historical design, while the other is devoted to the research and production of numbered and limited editions of objects and furnishings, thanks to the cooperation with extraordinary artists such as Alessandro Mendini, Marco Zanuso Jr., Anna Gili, Carla Venosta, Claudio Onorato and Claudio Salocchi.
In 2012, Fragile opened its first gallery in Paris, a charming place which shares the goal of offering the client a valuable and fulfilling experience.
In December 2014, then, Fragile moved to its brand new location in Via San Damiano, 2, in the heart of Milan. A playful gallery, with bold colours, shapes and materials, designed by Alessandro Mendini.
It's been years since Fragile started to organize events and exhibitions, such as Franco Albini & Franca Helg (2009); Nothing Less – La forza del Design femminile (2011), Bracciodiferro. Gaetano Pesce – Alessandro Mendini 1971 – 1975 (2013) and Il Design fa 90 / Ninetiestastic Design, curated by Anty Pansera. On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2014, Fragile started to host contemporary design exhibitions such as “Luce Continua” by Stefano Galuzzi.
